Experience & impact

Program & delivery leadership in complex, high-risk environments.

I’ve led large, multi-year programs at a Fortune 40 insurer, built and delivered accessibility training at scale, and run my own accessibility consultancy. The throughline is calm, structured leadership when the work is messy, the systems are old, and failure is not an option.

I think in terms of systems, incentives, and behaviors: how to align executives and teams, surface risk early, and translate strategy into clear, teachable ways of working. Titles change. The work — creating clarity in complexity — has stayed the same.

Selected roles & impact

Not every bullet — just the work that shows how I lead, how I think about change, and where I’m most effective.

Deque Systems

Strategic Accessibility Training Consultant

2024 – 2025

  • Led multi-week enterprise training programs, coordinating instructors, curriculum, and delivery across distributed teams with stable sequencing.
  • Influenced delivery practices across the organization by leading without a title — shaping how teams structure work, communicate risk, and sequence training engagements.
  • Partnered directly with the VP of Project Management to provide guidance, best practices, and delivery frameworks based on my enterprise program leadership experience.
  • Built instructional patterns that reduced inconsistency, improved throughput, and created teachable structures that scaled across multiple clients.
  • Helped organizations embed accessibility into active workflows by translating WCAG 2.2 into clear, operational behaviors tied to product reality.

Skills used: program leadership, leading without authority, delivery strategy, instructional design, cross-functional alignment, enterprise client management

AccessibilityFirst Solutions

  • Ran all client programs end-to-end, sequencing assessments, training, and strategy into cohesive delivery plans tied to business outcomes.
  • Created a simple, actionable accessibility model for SMBs without internal IT or accessibility teams — lowering the barrier to meaningful progress.
  • Developed reusable methods for audits, reporting, and client communication that reduced churn and increased clarity for decision-makers.
  • Balanced multiple workstreams simultaneously using disciplined program management rather than ad-hoc task execution.

Skills used: consulting leadership, operational sequencing, workflow design, accessibility strategy, client program ownership

State Farm

Delivery Manager / Program Leader

Prior

  • Directed major modernization programs across claims, infrastructure, and data centers — where sequencing, dependencies, and risk clarity determined success.
  • Led both project- and program-level delivery for a multi-year Claims System rewrite, coordinating technical, product, and business workstreams in a high-visibility, high-risk environment.
  • Brought accounting literacy from my General Ledger background into system design and validation — ensuring financial accuracy, reconciliation logic, and reporting integrity during modernization efforts.
  • Led the $1.6B Canadian divestiture, unifying technical, legal, and business workstreams into a stable delivery path with zero customer impact.
  • Coordinated a $2B data center build with Cisco, IBM, and Oracle, driving cross-vendor alignment and a common operating rhythm.
  • Provided steady leadership in high-pressure environments by surfacing constraints early, reducing ambiguity, and protecting critical paths.

Skills used: program & portfolio management, modernization leadership, financial systems literacy, vendor management, executive alignment, risk management

Where I do my best work

I’m most useful when teams are trying to change how they work without breaking what’s already in production — modernizing systems, raising quality bars, and building accessibility into the way the organization operates.

  • • Modernizing legacy platforms in regulated industries.
  • • Embedding accessibility into product, design, and QA practices.
  • • Leading cross-functional teams through ambiguity and competing priorities.
  • • Translating strategy into clear, teachable behaviors for teams.

Industries & problem spaces

My experience spans large enterprises and smaller organizations that still carry enterprise-level risk.

  • • Insurance and financial services.
  • • Higher education and public sector.
  • • Accessibility consulting for small and mid-sized businesses.
  • • Vendor management and complex multi-vendor programs.

How this experience shows up if you hire me

You get someone who has shipped work at scale, built accessibility programs, and stood in front of rooms full of people to teach them how to change. I’m comfortable in complexity and careful with people.

If you’re looking for project or program leadership that can bridge delivery, accessibility, and culture, I’d be glad to talk.
